Trade: Experienced Filippone Now Soars

Earlier this week, The Chilliwack Jets made a 3-way trade with the Surrey Knights and North Vancouver Wolf Pack. North Van received the player rights to David Yoon from the Chilliwack Jets and received back Defenseman, Ben Filippone.

Filippone has played in the PJHL for the last 2 seasons with the Surrey Knights. Ben has tallied 7 goals, 13 assists and 190 PIM’s in 64 games during that period. Prior to playing in the PJHL, Filippone played under the Thompson Blazers U17 AAA Program in the BCEHL.

“Ben has already proved himself to be a young and extremely successful shutdown defenseman in this league and having him join the team will solidify our back end and help us push into a deep playoff run this season. The fact that last year was named on to the BCHC Prospects Team speaks wonders for his style of play and game. We are excited to welcome him to Chilliwack and continue his development and game in Junior Hockey” – Chris Price, Head Coach

We are thrilled for Ben to be joining the Jets and “THE HANGAR” and expect him to be a crucial big-bodied player to make an immediate impact to our lineup and organization. Please welcome Ben Filippone to Chilliwack!
